A BRIGHT IDEA!
Light bulb removes dust, germs and bacteria from homes
David W. deMartino
The future of indoor air quality just got better. O-ZONE.Lite™ is a titanium dioxide-coated, energy efficient 23-watt light bulb that, when illuminated, results in the elimination of bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, smoke and odors. Additionally, the bulbs last 8 times as long as a conventional bulb and uses a fraction of the electricity and over the life of the product will save over $50.00 in electrical costs, thus more than paying for itself. Unlike sprays and air fresheners
that just mask odors, the O-ZONE.Lite actually eliminates them. "With this system, contaminants are destroyed rather than transferred," said University of Florida laboratory director, Yogi Goswami. "No toxic chemicals are employed. Allergy and asthma sufferers experience great relief once dust mites and mold spores are eliminated from the air they breathe," he said. deMartino introduced the bulb to the United
States market in December 2003 and he says O-ZONE.Lite bulbs are all
ready in great demand. "In just one day, we had over 300 bulb orders
placed with us on line, and that's before we started to advertise,"
said deMartino. Studies posted to www.ozonelite.com provide data that
shows that the titanium dioxide coated bulb is one of the safest and
most effective ways to clean indoor air. In addition, titanium dioxide
is widely used in other countries, including Japan, due to its bactericidal
effects on strains of bacteria such as penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus
aureus (staph infection) and Escherichia coli (E-coli).
The O-ZONE.Lite, the first of its kind, when illuminated produces
what is called a photocatalytic action. It is this photocatalytic
action that breaks down indoor airborne microorganisms such as bacteria,
viruses, fungi and mold into carbon dioxide and water, elements that
are completely safe for humans and animals.
This is not a new technology, but this is the first time it has been
applied to a properly balanced light source available for office or
at-home use. The energy efficient light bulb can be used anywhere
a standard incandescent light bulb is used and lasts 6,000 hours,
or far longer than a standard incandescent light bulb. Yet, the bulb
emits the equivalent light output of a standard 100 watt light bulb,
and remains comfortable to the touch. O-ZONE.Lite helps by saving
energy while cleaning up the environment. If the entire American public
put just one O-ZONE.Lite energy saving light in their home it would
be the equivalent of removing one million cars from the road. "I was
skeptical at first," said allergy-sufferer Una Kohlman. "It was hard
for me to believe that a light bulb can do this, but it does. The
air is better. I don't sneeze as much and I definitely notice a positive
difference in the odors." New homeowner Ann Maher says she had similar
results. Her South Florida home smelled strongly of cigarettes, mold,
and mildew from previous owners. "Cleaning the air vents didn't help,"
said Maher, who replaced four light bulbs in her home with O-ZONE.Lite.
"I forgot that I had the O-ZONE.Lites in and one day I came home and
the smell was completely gone. I've noticed a huge difference." Maher
says has also noticed a significant improvement with her children's
allergies. The 23-watt O*ZONELite(tm) retails for $39.95 each. For

David W. deMartino, O-ZONE.Lite Chairman and CEO, is recognized
as one of the leading experts on energy efficient lighting for homes
and businesses. In 1995, he founded FutureLite 2000 which introduced
to the U.S. market innovative and energy efficient lighting products.
In December 2003, deMartino partnered with William C. Stone to distribute
O-ZONE.Lite, the first light bulb to effectively eliminate germs and
odors. The partnership has resulted in one of the fastest growing
lighting air cleaning systems - the first in the U.S.
